Who would win?

I only have one question for you. It has been boggling my mind for I don't know how many years. There are so many variables that it is hard to come to any real conclusion, but I have finally decided to put it to you. If you can put my mind at ease, then I will be most grateful, but I need an answer that will really satisfy me. Only an answer that is deep, logical, and thorough will truly put my mind at ease. Here it is. Who would win in a fight

Spiderman

or Batman?

Please Help Me!!!!!

The question itself is irrelevant, no wonder your little mind has been so twisted and confused over it.

The fallacy presupposed by the question is that Spiderman and Batman would ever have reason to fight. Both are warriors of justice, crusaders for good, sworn to combat evil in whatever strange embodiment it comes to them (the Joker, the Penguin, Doc Ock, Sandman, etc.) Neither super hero would violate his sacred public trust by battling the other.

Unless of course Batman tried to hit on Mary Jane, then I got my money on Spidey. This is because in Spiderman 3, he takes some serious lickin's but keeps on tickin'. I don't think Batman could dish out what it would take to kill Spidey.

Besides, most of Batman's super-ness comes from his fancy toys anyway. Take those away and he is toast!

Spider-Man hands down. Batman isn't even super! So i say that Spider-Man would take him in a heart beat. Ty's right destory the toys and Batman doesn't stand a chance.
But Spider-Man and Superman now that is a whole another question...

Batman is a fraud superhero. Give me a rich boy mansion, a butler and a few billion dollars, and I could be Batman. You could be Batman. Heck, even Michael Keaton could be Batman.

But Spiderman's very DNA was changed when bitten by the nuclear spider. Now, he has tiny velcro stickers that grow out of his fingertips and he can emit a physics-defying quantity of spidery webs from small pores in the vicinity of his wrists. He's also extremely speedy and has bones that can withstand crushing blows. Finally, he's got spidey sense, which gives you all you need.

What's Batman got? A fancy car and bat-like ears on his rubbery suit. Plus, he likes to sleep hanging upside down. But that's all he's got. (Oh, and a butler.)

But please. This ain't no contest.

Spidey in about ten seconds.

This is a no brainer.

First of all, Batman has no real super powers. He only is very agile and strong but relies totally on gizmos (and a super fast Batmobile) to get around. He has no real mobility with out the car. He has to jump from a high building to even glide with his Bat Wings. He is tough in a one on one fight but needs Robin to supplement his fighting prowness. He has no "Spidey-like" sense to warn him of impending danger. He relies on a butler for Pete's sake. He is a psuedo super hero to be sure. He does have a nifty super hard suit that protects him, but relies too much on peoples' fear of bats than real super powers.

Spidey on the other hand is not able to be hurt. He has fallen from buildings to the ground with only a temporary effect on his fighting ability. His problem is he needs buildings to swing from. He is totally worthless outside the city as he has nothing to shoot his webs to so he can swing. The way to beat him is to get him in the country and there Batman would have the advantage due to his physical skills. Spidey is strong and can go up buildings with his spiney fingers and all and he carries a big wallop for sure. He truly has super powers and in the long run would win the fight if he is in his enviornment.

Batman should take him to an open field and take him one on one. He had better bring a sharp knife of some kind because Spidey will try wrap him up in a web and he will need to cut himself out. If Spidey gets him in the web so he can't move his arms, he is toast.

Of course Spidey will recognize him as Bruce Wayne due to his very week disguise and will have mercy on him as Wayne is a rich girley man when it comes right down to it.

So in the City, Spidey wins hands down. In a flat area where Spidey can't shoot his webs and swing, Batman has a even chance of causing serious damage to Spidey.

That's all.

I can only wonder what the response to this same question would have been back in 1976 (when Christopher Reeves' "Superman" was released), or in 1990-91 (when the first round of "new" Batman movies were released). A flooding of the market via movie posters, toys and Taco Bell plastic collector's cups with any particular superhero's image tends to foster (no pun intended) brand loyalty to said superhero among the public.

This by the way is why I am so insanely, wretchedly sick of superhero movies and refuse to see any of them. My generation has been completely over exposed to this re-vamped, tired cinematic swill. Surely there are other heroic figures out there that could make for fresher screenplays?

Here's one -- how about a remake of the 80's turkey, "Clash of the Titans"! I think that could be great...let's turn the clock back to ancient superheroes, and let the CGI fly!

I am tired of everyone railing on Batman because he uses little gizmos to do his fighting. That is what makes him tough, the fact that he has the gizmos. Also, I don't think spidies little suit can protect him from a bat shaped chinese star.

Inside Spiderman is always questioning whether or not he wants to be a superhero or not. He has the weakness of Mary Jane. She constantly haunts his thoughts and he is tortured by her. He is the girly man.

Batman is fired by revenge and fury and will destroy anything in his path until he feels satisfied.

Also, Batman is a trained fighter(in the middle of the Himalayas) by hindu monks and ninja like warriors Spiderman is toast.

At first I thought Batman because of all his gear, and I said Spidey only has webs. But lets be honest, Spiderman has what it takes on the inside. I am sure he would get beat up a bit, but he would come out victorious.

Why do they have to fight at all? They are on the same side. Good will always reign victorious and they are both good, so the question is moot in my opinion. Spiderman and Batman would never come to blows.

I just re-read the comments and realized I had the same opinion as my sweet husband...are we meant to be or what?! :)

I am not a foster but, my first name is adam so that gives me some clout in this discussion. Tankfos is totally right. Spiderman is not mentally committed enough to take on the Bat.
The web issue has been slung around quite a bit. Spiderman’s web is not a never-ending resorce as the movies claims. it’s not part of his mutation. it’s an invention, some gadget that peter parker built in with his mad Chemistry skills. (He is just a science geek at heart)
I’d put my money on the Bat’s mad ninja skills and gadgets over the spider with is weak reserve and sipidi-sense anytime.
