The New ipod and other random things

It has been a while since I have posted on my blog. I just haven't had the drive, but I have decided to try again. Things are going well here in Provo. The Cougs just beat UCLA 59-0 so we are in high spirits. BCS bowl has started to cross our lips but it is a long season and many things could happen. WE just got a new ipod, an ipod touch, from a friend on the track team. He sold it to us for a good price and he gave it to us with about 15 "Office" episodes on it. It will be used with all the traveling I have to do with dental school interviews and later on with track. Speaking of dental school, things are going well. I interviewed at Midwestern University in Phoenix last week and was really impressed. I thought it went really well and feel like I have a good chance of being accepted there. I have three more interviews lined up with Case Western in Cleveland, Colorado, and UNLV. I hope to get a few more in the next few weeks. It is exciting to be at this point, but dental schools can't accept anyone until Dec.1 so that is a long time to wait. But wait we will.

Other than that things are just going. School is up and running, my last year at BYU (hopefully) and intramural sports has started. I am once again on an ultimate team and we are looking to repeat as champions this year. I am also on a division 1 flag football team and we are real good. We won our first game last week pretty easily, but there are a lot of games to play. Well that is it for now. Until next time.

I forgot to mention my lovely wife above so I had to put a picture of her here. Save the best for last. She is also a returning member of the championship ulimate team of last year, so we are excited.

Neither Kristen or I remember this picture being taken, but it is a great picture of her hard at work. She is always trying to prepare for her 2nd grade class. Isn't she wonderful.

The Garden

A lot of people have been wondering what our garden is looking like these days. Well, I am happy to report that everything is going well.. We picked our first squash today and they were huge. Our "Mortgage Lifter" tomatoes, yes that is their name, are looking real good as well as the rest of the tomatoes. The peppers are starting to come in as well. We have a few banana peppers that are about ready to pick, but the rest need a little more time. Just look at the pictures below and you will know what I mean.

The pumpkin plant that is going to deliver a 500 pound pumpkin!! If not 500 punds, then at least 10 pounds.

The lone corn plant, but by far the largest corn plant I have seen in town. We will get at least 2 heads of corn from it. It's the best.

The DAT

I just got home from taking the DAT. It went well, but not quite what I had hoped for. Overall, I scored a 20. That is pretty good but I was hoping for a 21 or 22. Every section I did fairly well on, except for one...quantitative reasoning. This was the section I was most worried about because it all depends on the questions. The ones I got were stinking hard. Besides that all went realativly well. A breakdown of the scores goes like this. (as if any of you care).

As you can tell, the QR stunk. Bio was disapointing, and the PAT (perceptual ability) was also a little disapointing. I thought I totally rocked it and scored a 23, but not so. The rest were about what I expected. Overall, I think my scores will get me into a school somewhere and that is all we can ask for, and now my summer really begins. NO more DAT, that's right, NO MORE DAT!!!!!!! Say it with me NO MORE DAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A Winter Hike

Kristen and I decided to go on a little hike up Rock Canyon a few weeks ago and I wanted to share a few pictures. We were inspired for a few reasons, but mainly because of my church history class (Ask me about it sometime and I would love to share). Anyway, here are the pictures.

We told you we went to rock canyon but we actually went to the top of Mt. Everest. This is at the Hillary Step. I know all you climbing buffs will know what I'm taking about.

We finally made it back to the trail and Kristen let me know how she feels about leaving the trail. I wanted to try again but she wouldn't have it.
